Albert Einstein, allegedly said that “if the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, man would have only four years to live”. Einstein has said many things and not everything was correct, however this one looks that is very close to reality.

About 80 to 90% of pollination happens because of the bees. Honeybees carry the pollen from one tree to another as they fly. And although corn, wheat, rice and other grains rely on wind to spread their pollen, almost any other flowering plant relies on the bees. It is estimated than almost one third of the human food supply depends on insect pollination, most of which is accomplished by bees.

However the use of chemicals, pesticides and other reasons has caused the bee colonies to shrink worldwide.

Does this means that global food security is threatened? Read more here

Did you know that most bees are fuzzy and carry an electrostatic charge, which aids in the adherence of pollen?
